Eduardo Conceicao: United told what they must do to sign Palmeiras winger
Manchester United have exploded into the race to sign Palmeiras sensation Eduardo Conceicao.
On Monday, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have promised to make a bid worth €40 million (£34.8m), including add-ons, in the coming days to sign the 16-year-old right-footed left-winger
It was also suggested that United are already in contact with Conceicao’s representatives.
According to Mundo Deportivo , Eduardo Conceicao recently signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras. The deal is valid until 2029 and includes a massive €100 million release clause.
The Spanish outlet, however, claims the Brazilian wonderkid could leave for much less by following the formula of a sale to a ‘big club’ plus a two-year development deal at Palmeiras. FIFA rules would prevent him from moving to Europe until he turns 18.
It is understood United are preparing their first offer for Conceicao , who has also been linked with Barcelona.
However, the Red Devils’ main rivals for his services are the City Football Group and Newcastle United, who have already submitted a €25m offer, excluding bonuses.
Amid growing interest in their prodigy, Palmeiras are aiming to fetch €50m (£43.5m) before letting him leave and follow in the footsteps of former academy gems Endrick and Estevao to Europe.
Accordingly, it appears there is just a gap of £8.7m between United and Palmeiras in their valuations of the winger, who has earned plaudits for his explosive pace, excellent ball control, and tendency to relentlessly take on defenders.
Conceicao was one of the standout attackers for Brazil in the South American U-17 Championship.
As things stand, United’s priority is to bring in an established left-winger during the summer transfer window.
The Premier League giants have reportedly shown interest in RB Leipzig superstar Yan Diomande .
Interestingly, they face competition from the City Football Group in the race for Diomande as well. Manchester City are allegedly plotting a £100 million raid on Leipzig, as Pep Guardiola is “obsessed” with the electric winger.
