Just three matches remain in the Premier League campaign with Liverpool battling for Champions League qualification to salvage their season. Arne Slot's team suffered a damaging 3-2 loss to Manchester United recently, denting their hopes of securing a spot in Europe's elite competition.

That said, with struggling Chelsea next on the fixture list and clashes against Aston Villa and Brentford still to come, the Reds could yet claim a respectable finish in the Premier League standings. Slot will already be looking ahead to the summer transfer window as he prepares to reshape his squad.

Despite splashing out a staggering £446million last year, Liverpool have precious little to show for their enormous investment. Yet unfortunate injury setbacks and demanding European fixtures have exposed certain areas requiring reinforcement in the weeks ahead.

Several departures have already been confirmed; the Reds will be saying goodbye to the likes of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson this summer. But there could be further high-profile exits through the Anfield doors in the coming months.

Here, Mirror Football have identified six senior figures who may well have already featured for the final time this season.

Mo Salah confirmed his departure from Anfield back in March, pulling down the curtain on a remarkable nine-year spell at the club. The Egyptian forward cemented himself as a cult figure amongst supporters during his time with the Reds, claiming two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy, along with a host of domestic cup honours.

Having netted more than 250 goals for Liverpool, Salah will leave behind a legacy that will endure long after his farewell. While the 33-year-old is anticipated to return before the season concludes, he is presently recovering from a minor muscle injury, and there remains a possibility that a further setback could bring his Reds career to an untimely end.

Andy Robertson is due to depart Liverpool when his contract runs out at the close of this campaign, bidding farewell to a fanbase that cherished him for nearly a decade. The 32-year-old claimed nine trophies during his time at the club and was substituted against Manchester United just shy of the hour mark on Sunday.

Although the Scotland international remains fit to feature, Slot may opt to field defenders he knows will be at his disposal next season. This could mean the left-back has already made his final appearance at Anfield, having accumulated 377 appearances, 14 goals and 69 assists throughout his career with the Reds.

Wataru Endo's last appearance for Liverpool came back in February, when the Reds clinched a 1-0 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. The defensive midfielder was deputising at right back due to injury concerns and was carried off on a stretcher in the second half following an ankle problem.

At the time, Slot acknowledged that Endo would be "out for a long, long time" and is now targeting a return to fitness ahead of the upcoming World Cup with Japan. With sparse opportunities at Anfield - predominantly deployed as cover during squad emergencies - it appears probable that the 33-year-old will depart Liverpool this summer.

This would mean his spell at the Reds concluded with him putting the team's needs above his own, slotting into an unfamiliar position to help seal the victory.

Federico Chiesa made a brief cameo in the loss to United and was instantly criticised by Jamie Carragher for a sloppy mistake in added time. He has featured for approximately 300 minutes for the Reds this campaign and has been sparingly deployed by Slot across all competitions.

The Italian has been largely used from the bench this season and reports indicate he is eager to secure a return to Serie A in the summer. With the next three fixtures vitally important for Champions League qualification, it seems unlikely that Slot will thrust Chiesa into the starting line-up with European football at stake.

Harvey Elliott is presently on loan at Aston Villa but has scarcely featured in the Premier League of late due to a permanent purchase clause written into his contract. Manager Unai Emery has been deploying the attacking midfielder predominantly in the Europa League.

Elliott would become a Villa player on a permanent basis if he reaches 10 Premier League appearances, with the Birmingham club contractually bound to pay £35million for his signature. Thus far, the 23-year-old has made only five league outings for the Villans and could reportedly form part of a cash-plus-player arrangement with RB Leipzig for Yan Diomande this summer.

This would mean that Elliott's final appearance for Liverpool came in August 2025, when he entered as a substitute in the Community Shield loss to Crystal Palace.

The left back last turned out for Liverpool in May 2025, participating in the Premier League title celebrations at the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign. He moved to AS Roma on a season-long loan last summer and has only started 11 fixtures across all competitions this term.
