Liverpool will have to move fast if they want to sign Marcos Senesi as a free agent upon his departure from Bournemouth. The Cherries confirmed on Friday that the centre-back will leave when his contract expires this summer - and there is bound to be a lot of interest in the Argentina international.
Senesi has been one of the stand-out performers for Andoni Iraola's side this season, making 37 appearances across all competitions. He has helped Bournemouth reach sixth place in the Premier League , with a good chance of securing European football next season with two games to go.
But the 29-year-old has rejected multiple offers of a new deal with Bournemouth and will be leaving the club this summer, like Iraola . Liverpool are among the clubs who have been linked with Senesi, yet Tottenham have reportedly stolen a march on their rivals.
According to talkSPORT , Senesi has agreed personal terms with Spurs and is in line to move to north London, if they avoid relegation. Tottenham are unbeaten in their last four games and sit two points above West Ham in the final relegation place ahead of the weekend's penultimate round of fixtures.

Liverpool are in the market for a centre-back this summer, with uncertainty surrounding Joe Gomez's future and with Ibrahima Konate yet to sign a new contract. Captain Virgil van Dijk is now 34 years old and, with Giovanni Leoni having suffered a season-ending knee injury soon after arriving last summer, there is still a need for new players, despite the pending £60million arrival of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes.
Senesi has been the bedrock behind Bournemouth's climb up the table in 2026, partnering James Hill to 11 clean sheets during their current 16-game unbeaten run. Having arrived from Feyenoord in 2022, he has 124 appearances for the club in total.

“From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this club," Senesi told the club website . "I’m proud of everything we achieved over the last four years and I’m grateful for the support the fans have always given me.
“AFC Bournemouth will always hold a special place for me and I will look back at my time here with fond memories. For now, there are still two big games left of the season and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
