Molineux hosts a West Midlands derby on Friday as third-placed Aston Villa visit bottom club Wolves . Villa are three points ahead of Manchester United in the race for a Champions League spot, while Wolves are 17 points from safety and almost certain to be relegated.

The bookies are offering no surprises in this match with Aston Villa the clear odds-on favourites with the likes of William Hill while the hosts are 3/1 to cause a stir at Molineux and a draw is 5/2. Wolves' time in the Premier League seems all but confirmed with relegation a mere formality at this point considering Rob Edwards' side are 1/500 to be in the Championship next season.

Wolves come into the match after a narrow 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace , but have shown some improvement recently, including a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in their last home game. However, with just one win all season and the league’s worst home record, their struggles continue. Despite this, Wolves have won four of their last six home league games against Villa and are unbeaten in this fixture at Molineux since 2020.

Villa, meanwhile, drew 1-1 with Leeds in their last outing and have only one win in their last five matches. They have the Premier League’s third-best away record and are looking to do the league double over Wolves for the first time since 2003-04—a crucial goal with tough fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester United coming up.

Wolves will once again be without Hwang Hee-chan, who remains sidelined with a calf injury, while Ladislav Krejci is suspended following his red card against Crystal Palace. Krejci’s absence is expected to see Toti come into the starting lineup on Friday. Angel Gomes could also be given a chance in an attacking role, and highly sought-after Mateus Mane is set to retain his place in the XI.

For Aston Villa, Youri Tielemans (ankle), John McGinn (knee), Boubacar Kamara (knee), and Harvey Elliott (undisclosed) are all unavailable, with Alysson also a major doubt due to a knock. Tammy Abraham scored off the bench against Leeds, but Ollie Watkins is likely to continue leading the line at Molineux. Ross Barkley and Jadon Sancho impressed as substitutes in that match, but both are expected to remain on the bench, with Leon Bailey set to start on the right.
