Now in its 13th year, the British LGBT Awards shine a spotlight on individuals and organisations reshaping the landscape of inclusion - from entertainment and sport to business, media and grassroots activism. With media partner The Mirror on board for 2026, this year’s shortlist is set to reach millions nationwide, amplifying stories of resilience, progress and pride at a pivotal moment for the community.
Alongside the celebrity frontrunners, some of the UK’s biggest brands are recognised in the highly competitive corporate categories for their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. Major names including HSBC, Grosvenor Group, Lloyds Banking Group, Premier League , Morrisons and Bank of Ireland are all in the running, recognised for embedding inclusive practices within their workplaces and championing LGBTQ+ equality beyond their own organisations.
In the Charity of the Year category, inspirational organisations including Sahir, The Proud Trust and London Friend have been shortlisted for their tireless work supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and communities across the country.
Sarah Garrett, Founder of the British LGBT Awards, said: “These awards go far beyond trophies. They are about reshaping narratives, amplifying joy and affirming that LGBTQ+ stories, achievements and identities deserve to be seen, valued and celebrated.
This year’s shortlist represents the very best of Britain - from global superstars to grassroots heroes - all united by their commitment to driving positive change.”
Rebecca Twomey Head of Showbiz at the Mirror said: "We're thrilled to put our support behind this incredible award ceremony which champions the LGBTQ+ community. The Mirror is all about bringing people together and championing all voices from the heart of Britain.”
