Arsenal's reported interest in Tino Livramento has sparked new speculation about the future of Ben White , with the defender already sliding down Mikel Arteta's pecking order. White, who has two years left on his contract, has been overtaken by Jurrien Timber and has only made five Premier League starts this season.
Injuries have also hampered his season, limiting him to 19 appearances across all competitions. Reports this week suggest Arsenal are 'pondering' a potential summer offer for Newcastle United full-back Livramento.
There have been no indications of contract discussions at St James' Park and the 21-year-old could reportedly be available for around £60million. While Newcastle are eager to retain him, they acknowledge his value may decrease if no new agreement is reached.
Arsenal is not the only club interested; Manchester City is reportedly keeping an eye on the situation as well. However, the Gunners' pursuit raises questions about how they would finance such a move.
After significant expenditure last summer in their title pursuit, Arsenal are anticipated to offload at least one first-team player. The Telegraph points out that the club's inability to consistently generate substantial income from player sales has been a long-standing problem.
Their record sale remains Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's £35m transfer to Liverpool nine years ago. Ahead of the summer, both Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are reportedly considered as potential exits to generate funds.

Martinelli, who has been a consistent contributor for Arteta in recent seasons, has been utilised from the bench this campaign, with Leandro Trossard favoured as the first‐choice option on the left.
The Brazilian star has one year remaining on his contract after joining the Emirates in 2019.
As for Jesus, he made his return in December following a severe cruciate ligament injury last year, but his participation has been restricted.

He has only started two league matches since his comeback and hasn't featured in Arsenal's last three fixtures, remaining on the bench against Tottenham , Chelsea and Brighton .
He is also out of contract next summer, and this year may be Arsenal's only chance to secure a decent fee for the pair. The north Londoners' Premier League title pursuit continues this weekend when they welcome Everton on Saturday at 5:30pm.
