David Moyes returns to the London Stadium on Saturday as his European-chasing Everton side face relegation-battling West Ham in the Premier League. The Toffees travel down to the capital with the possibility of a European campaign next season for the first time in eight years while West Ham seek results to avoid relegation and with that send Tottenham to the Championship.

The sides drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture seven months ago, with Jarrod Bowen cancelling out Michael Keane’s opener. West Ham come into this one off a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday, a result that followed their 4-0 win over Wolves and secured back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since February last year. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men sit 17th, two points above Tottenham with five games left, and are targeting the points they feel they need to stay up.

West Ham have been harder to beat at home lately, going five league games unbeaten at the London Stadium (two wins, three draws), though their overall record hosting Everton is poor. Everton, meanwhile, were edged 2-1 by Liverpool last weekend thanks to a 100th-minute Virgil van Dijk header, leaving Moyes’s side with just one win in their last four league matches. Even so, they remain 10th and within three points of sixth, keeping European hopes alive.

The Toffees have been far better on the road than at home, with only Arsenal and Manchester City winning more away points this season. Historically, Everton have also enjoyed this fixture, recording more wins and more away victories against West Ham than versus any other Premier League opponent — although their recent record in London is less convincing.

Moyes has already won away at one former club this season, Manchester United, and could join a small group of managers to win away at two ex-employers in a single Premier League campaign.

West Ham head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says he has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Saturday and could stick with the same XI again, although Aaron Wan-Bissaka is pushing Kyle Walker-Peters for the right-back spot in a back four alongside Konstantinos Mavropanos, Axel Disasi and El Hadji Malick Diouf.

Callum Wilson has an excellent record against Everton, scoring eight times in his last seven Premier League appearances versus the Toffees, but January arrivals Valentin Castellanos and Pablo Felipe are expected to keep their places in attack, with captain Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville providing width.

Everton, meanwhile, look set to be without Jarrad Branthwaite for the rest of the season after he was stretchered off with a hamstring injury in the Merseyside derby, while on-loan forward Jack Grealish (foot) also remains out.

Beto, who scored again against Liverpool before going off with a head knock, has avoided concussion and could therefore continue up front ahead of Thierno Barry. With Branthwaite sidelined, Michael Keane — fresh from a one-year extension — is expected to partner James Tarkowski at centre-back, while James Garner, Idrissa Gueye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall should continue in midfield.
