Tyson Fury has warned Arslanbek Makhmudov he should have knocked him of his perch when he had the chance.

Makhmudov will welcome Fury back to the ring on Saturday night when the heavyweights clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The giants came face to face earlier this week on the roof of the Premier League ground. Fury claims Makhmudov pretended to shove him off - but is confident it will be the Russian who will be cut down to size.

"When when we were up there I was wondering why I had come up," he said. “I was s***ing myself; it was so high and it had a glass floor. He started to shove me and my legs went to jelly. I didn’t know I was afraid of heights until I got up there. But it won’t be anything compared to what he will face in the ring.

“I’ve been the hunted and now I am the hunter and when I am the hunter I f*** people up. I feel sorry for Arslanbek Makhmudov; he’s got to face an injury free Tyson Fury on good form and I’m going to make an example of him. He’s a big lump and he won’t be able to get out the way of me I’ll knock his head off his shoulders and leave him unconscious on the floor.”

Fury will be making his fifth comeback from retirement this weekend. He has not fought since he was beaten for a second time by unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk 16 months ago. But Fury insists he is thriving as the challenger. "Not only will I destroy Makhmudov but I will do it to all of them," he added.

"Everyone is saying my legs are gone and my reactions are gone but I’m telling you they’re not. I’m going to knock this motherf***** spark out. And sooner or later the so-called alphabet world champions are going to have to fight me. They will be hunted and they will be destroyed.

"Whoever has the belts will be begging me to fight them by the end of the year. I'm the top man in this division and I’m going to prove it again and again and again."

Makhmudov earned a fearsome reputation after starting his career with 14 successive knockouts. But he doesn't believe he needs to stop Fury to win on British soil. "Tyson Fury is a great boxer," he said. "But boxing has rules, I don’t have to go for the knockout, I have to box well.
