Thomas Tuchel has not ruled out the possibility of Arsenal sensation Max Dowman making his England squad for this summer’s World Cup .

The 16-year-old scored his first goal for the Gunners last Saturday having made his competitive debut at just 15 earlier in the campaign.

His incredible rise has sparked debate over whether he is an option for Tuchel this summer, having drawn comparisons with Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney .

Dowman was not included in the England squad for upcoming friendly games against Japan and Uruguay.

Tuchel is eager to see Dowman continue progressing at Arsenal, labelling the teen an ‘outstanding talent’ who is in the best possible place competing with the Premier League leaders.

While he warned his lack of regular first-team football will be a factor having played just 46 senior minutes this season, Tuchel left the door open for a shock inclusion in his squad this summer should he continue to shine.

‘He is in the spotlight now,’ Tuchel told a press conference on Friday.

‘He is an outstanding talent, everyone who tells me about Max praises him and is full of compliments.

‘The reality is at the minute, he is competing for minutes and is not a regular starter for Arsenal. I think he’s in a fantastic environment at a competitive club, a stable club, a club where teamwork is the no1 role.

‘He learns from the best. With these young guys, we see these players as you do as well.
