Tottenham have released a statement to confirm that Thomas Frank has left the club.

Defeat against Newcastle United on Tuesday proved to be his final game in charge, with Spurs slipping to just five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

Frank was appointed as the new Tottenham head coach last summer to replace Ange Postecoglou, who was axed despite ending the club's 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League.

Although Frank made an impressive start to life in north London, winning four of his first six matches at the helm, Tottenham's form has nosedived in recent months.

Indeed, Spurs have won just TWO of their last 17 top-fight games dating back to a 3-0 success at Everton in October. It's a run that has seen them drop to 16th in the Premier League table, five points ahead of 18th-place West Ham, who sit in the final relegation spot.

After losing 2-1 at home to Newcastle, it felt inevitable that Tottenham were going to make a change and they have since done so, with the club confirming in a statement that Frank "will leave today".

In a statement on Wednesday morning, Tottenham said: "The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.

"Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.

"However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.

"Throughout his time at The Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future."
