Luke Littler enjoyed interacting with the crowd in Nottingham on a feisty night for the Premier League . The Nuke enjoyed a narrow win over Gerwyn Price before going down to Luke Humphries as he played the role of pantomime villain.

Littler has never been shy of engaging with the crowd at darts events and his support of Manchester United has regularly come up. The 19-year-old was fired up during his 6-5 win over Price in the quarter finals and let out a roar to the crowd after closing out a leg by hitting double top after a succession of misses.

The youngster had been receiving whistles from someone in the crowd and when the time came to walk on for his semi-final against Humphries, he was ready to fire back. Having clearly been informed of the Nottingham Forest result, he couldn't resist when the camera zoomed in on him.

As the announcer gave him the big build-up, Littler held up his fingers to show 1-0, raised his eyebrows and then gave a double thumbs down. The cheeky gesture was a reference to Forest's defeat by Midtjylland in the Europa League that night.

The Danish side claimed a narrow win in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie at the City Ground on Thursday night, despite the home side having 22 shots. Their winless run now stands at five games and the pressure is ramping up on new boss Vitor Pereira - the fifth Forest manager of the season - with the team only out of the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference ahead of a match against Fulham on Sunday.

Littler fell at the next step, losing to Humphries, who claimed a first victory over his rival since last year's Premier League final in May. But the youngster was still happy with his performance, posting on Instagram : "Couple more prem points on the board. Nottingham [tick emoji]."

That feeling wasn't shared by Forest fans, who booed their side off the pitch at the full-time whistle in the pouring rain. "It is difficult to explain. We create so many chances to score a goal. Even if we draw, in my opinion, it was not fair," Pereira told TNT Sports.

"The two chances they create, they score a goal. But we had enough time and I believe we had the quality to win the game. If you create a chance and we don't score, in the end we did everything to score. We did everything and were just missing the goals.

"I'm very frustrated that we did not score and they came here to draw but they won the game. I try to keep the spirit and prepare for the next game against Fulham. Even the rain played against us! The best moment we are playing, creating and the dynamic is good, the rain came.

"It was difficult with the rain. As I said before, keep the spirit and go there with the mentality to win the game. We will see. Now it is time to recover mentally."
