‘It has been decided, 100%’: Sky and Romano in complete agreement that Man Utd ready to facilitate summer deal for 25-y/o

Borussia Dortmund are ready to try and facilitate yet another return for Jadon Sancho when his contract with Manchester United expires.

The winger will return to Old Trafford as soon as his loan with Aston Villa ends, after which he’ll depart M16 for good following a lacklustre five-year tenure.

From there, Dortmund will look to bring Sancho back to the club for a third stint in black and yellow .

He spent four years with the German outfit before signing for United in 2021, but returned for a half-season loan spell following his fallout with Erik ten Hag in January 2024.

The 25-year-old has since represented Chelsea and Villa through season-long deals – both of which have been underwhelming.

That being said, he could finish his time at Villa Park as a Europa League winner if they go on to win the competition in May. Villa face Bologna in the quarter-finals next month, and they are one of the major favourites to lift the trophy, given Unai Emery’s tremendous record in the UEL.

Sancho has only started eight times in the Premier League under Emery, but has been trusted to make more of an impact in Europe, where he’s been deployed from the off in eight of the nine matches up to this point. He registered an assist in their last-16 second-leg tie against Lille.

In regard to his Dortmund reunion, Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg said of the situation on Monday: “It has been decided 100% that Jadon Sancho will leave Manchester United at the end of the season .

“Borussia Dortmund are seriously interested and have held talks. Club boss Aki Watzke is the main driver behind the idea. He wants to bring Sancho back and is a big admirer of the 25 y/o.

“Sancho has been informed that Watzke is pushing for the transfer. The decision is still open. Many enquiries [made].”

Fabrizio Romano further verified such claims, adding this morning: “Borussia Dortmund have genuine interest in re-signing Jadon Sancho . He’s leaving MUFC as [a] free agent, as decided months ago, and [he] will assess all proposals.

“Borussia Dortmund are keen if financial terms can be agreed.”
