Sky Thurs morning update: ‘In contact with agents’ — £87m Man Utd target on verge of agreeing lucrative deal

RB Leipzig are ready to agree an improved deal with Yan Diomande to reward him for his stellar performances this season.

Indeed, the Bundesliga outfit are keen to tie down their starlet to more lucrative terms in hopes of fending off outside interest.

Manchester United fans will be well aware that Diomande sits firmly on INEOS’ shortlist heading into the summer window.

However, Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg has thrown a spanner in the works of their potential pursuit, as he claims this morning that Liverpool are ‘in contact with his (Diomande’s) agents’.

Like United, Liverpool are preparing for a major overhaul in the transfer window following a substandard Premier League campaign, which could result in them missing out on Champions League qualification.

It remains to be seen what the coveted winger is thinking of his future as he approaches the end of his maiden term in Germany.

Diomande may opt to stay put and honour Leipzig’s wishes , or he could up and leave after 12 months to embark on a new venture. Should it be the latter option, it’s thought his club will be looking for around €100 million (£87m) to facilitate a sale.
