United’s Malian youngster is an exciting prospect and has been compared to Yaya Toure .
Kone joined Lausanne-Sport in the winter market and has gradually been getting more consistent game time for the Swiss club. He came off the bench today in his side’s 3-2 win over Grasshoppers.
The youngster played 29 minutes in the second half and completed 64% of his passes. He almost scored his first senior goal, which would have been a huge moment for the United midfielder, but his effort was stopped by the opposition keeper.
The 20-year-old completed his only dribble attempt and also won both his tackles. In a dominant all-round display, he also won his only aerial duel and three out of four ground contests for his side.
Kone certainly seems to be finding his feet in Switzerland and will hope for more starting opportunities before the season is complete.
The young United striker was also given some time off the bench, coming on in the 78th minute.
Unfortunately, he could make little impression, completing just 43% of his passes.
He did not complete any dribbles or ground duels during his time on the pitch.
Kana-Biyik did contribute a little by winning two of his three aerial duels as his side held onto a valuable three points.
The young French striker will be disappointed not to have made an impact and remains stuck on one goal scored this season.
Both players could be in action again next Sunday when Lausanne welcome Young Boys to the Stade de la Tuilière.
