Real Madrid have not made contact with former manager over potential return

Jose Mourinho is one of the managers being mentioned as a possible arrival at Real Madrid next season.

The 63-year-old Portuguese manager previously led the club between 2010 and 2013 and could now return to the Santiago Bernabeu to replace his former ward, Alvaro Arbeloa, who is likely to be axed at the end of the season.

As has been reported , Mourinho, currently in charge of SL Benfica, would be willing to listen to Real Madrid and think about the possibility of a move back to the Bernabeu.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo , an approach from Real Madrid towards Mourinho has not taken place.

In December, when Real Madrid dismissed Xabi Alonso, Mourinho denied that he would take over the team at that time. At present, however, he has not ruled anything out. He is under contract with Benfica until 2027, but has not made any public statement regarding his future.

Mourinho would be willing to listen to Real Madrid , particularly to Florentino Perez, with whom he maintains a good relationship.

The club holds special significance for the Portuguese coach, and if approached, he would consider the proposal.

For now, however, Real Madrid have not made any contact with their former manager over a potential return.

Moreover, within circles close to the club’s leadership, there is no clear expectation that such a move will occur. Some even rule out the possibility of Mourinho returning to Real Madrid , at least at this moment, although the situation could still change.

Real Madrid have also been linked with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Didier Deschamps and Lionel Scaloni as potential candidates to replace Arbeloa in the summer.
