Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner revealed that he will have two key players available for selection in the Subway Women’s League Cup final versus Chelsea.

Jayde Riviere and Fridolina Rolfo are both set to be involved in the match following their respective recoveries from injury.

However, Ella Toone remains on the sidelines and is not expected back until next month.

“Frido [Fridolina Rolfo] will be back in contention,” said Skinner in his pre-match press conference.

“Tooney has been back on the field training, we still don’t have a definitive timeline but we’re looking around the back end of this window, the space we’re in, and then potentially a little hangover because it’s international window then, so potentially using that block of time.

“Hopefully Tooney can be back before the Tottenham game [on 26 April], but it could be earlier than that. It’s just dependent on how she goes.

“Jayde Riviere is back as well, she’s back available, she missed the Chelsea game before [the break in the FA Cup].

“Anna Sandberg is probably looking more likely the Tottenham game after the window, to get her back.”

Manchester United face Chelsea for the first silverware of the season. The two sides met in the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup prior to the international break, with the Blues winning 2-1 after extra time.

But that does not instil any fear into Skinner, he told BBC Sport.

“We don’t fear Chelsea – we respect them because you have to,” Skinner said. “This is a different Chelsea team and this is a different Manchester United. We’re more experienced now and we’ve got good depth.

“We just have to not get too worried about the opponent and get to that level regardless. Our aim is to try to beat Chelsea.

“We’re playing the most incredible team in the history of English football for wins in the WSL. We know the magnitude of it.”
