Official: Real Madrid starting lineup against Real Betis – academy gem in
Real Madrid are set to face off against Real Betis away at Estadio de La Cartuja in La Liga in a little over an hour.
Ahead of kickoff, Real Madrid boss Alvaro Arbeloa has announced the starting XI that will face Manuel Pellegrini’s men. And there are a few changes to the team that started against Alaves on Tuesday.
The most notable changes come in midfield, where Aurelien Tchouameni and Arda Guler miss out due to injuries.
In their place, teenage midfield gem Thiago Pitarch gets the nod along with Brahim Diaz, who is likely to operate on the right flank in attack alongside Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
Meanwhile, Pitarch will accompany Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham in the Real Madrid midfield unit.
There are a couple of alterations in defence as well, as Antonio Rudiger returns to replace the injured Eder Militao as Dean Huijsen’s centre-back partner.
Ferland Mendy comes in for Alvaro Carreras at left-back, while Trent Alexander-Arnold once again starts at right-back ahead of captain Dani Carvajal. Andriy Lunin mans the goal again in Thibaut Courtois’ injury-enforced absence.
