Ange Postecoglou could already find himself at the point of no return at Nottingham Forest if they fail to win against Newcastle on Sunday - less than one month after he was unveiled as Nuno Espirito Santo 's successor.
The Australian was swiftly named as Forest's new head coach after Evangelos Marinakis made the call to part company with the popular Nuno ; a decision that was not well received among the fanbase. But the former Tottenham chief has endured a torrid start to his tenure at the City Ground, with fans angrily turning against him during the home defeat by Midtjylland in the Europa League .
Thursday night's 3-2 reverse against Midtjylland means Postecoglou has failed to win any of his first six games at the helm. And it's now been claimed by The Mail that Forest will decide whether or not to stick with him during the international break if that winless streak continues against Newcastle, indicating another change could be on the cards.
The report comes less than 24 hours after fans turned against Postecoglou during the Midtjylland game, chanting "you're getting sacked in the morning", as well as singing the name of Nuno, who recently became the new head coach of West Ham .
Postecoglou, who has made the worst start of any Forest manager in over 100 years, acknowledged fans' anger after the game, saying: "I heard [it]. They’re fans. They’re entitled to their opinion and they want to see their team win.
"Nothing surprises me in football anymore."

Defeat at Newcastle could see Forest head into the international break in the Premier League relegation zone. But despite fan unrest, Postecoglou insists that he can turn things around after his rocky start to life at The City Ground and accepts that pressure is part of his job, pointing to his experience at Tottenham, where speculation over his future persisted for months before he was axed by the north London club.
He said: "I get it, it's a valid assumption in modern football there's always a manager under pressure, that's part and parcel of what we do.
"I don't think that way. I knew I was getting sacked at Tottenham three or four months before I did. It didn't stop me winning something. It doesn't enter my head. If I start worrying about what's going to happen next week, I'm not performing the role I've been given."
