Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon tells friends he wants Bayern Munich move

Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon has already informed those close to him that he wants a move to Bayern Munich this summer, according to Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri. Newcastle have not been told by the England international that he wants out, but the feeling inside the St James’ Park club is that the Magpies star will seek an exit. Bayern are planning to meet with Gordon’s representatives in the coming weeks as they look to wrap up a deal before the World Cup starts in June.
The Magpies star believes joining the Bundesliga club will be helpful for his career progression after watching Michael Olise’s rise since he left Crystal Palace for them. Bayern won their ninth league title in ten years yesterday, and joining such a club appeals to Gordon. They face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final of the Champions League and Gordon wants to be playing regularly in the competition. Newcastle could miss out entirely on European football next season after suffering their 15th defeat of the Premier League campaign to Bournemouth last Saturday. They are six points off the top-seven and will need to win against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium next Saturday to have any hopes of qualifying for Europe.
Gordon is likely to still look to move on regardless of where Newcastle finish, and the club will hope to get top dollar from suitors for his services.
