Jurgen Klopp's return to the spotlight is imminent as he gears up for a charity match between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund Legends. Former Reds striker John Aldridge will be quizzing the German about a potential return to management at the club.
Having taken the reins at Anfield in 2015, Klopp cemented his legendary status during his near nine-year spell, steering Liverpool to eight trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League .
Klopp departed on his own terms in 2024 , having clocked up almost 500 matches as Reds boss. He was succeeded by Arne Slot , who clinched the top-flight title in his first season, though results have been somewhat inconsistent this campaign .
Since January 2025, the 58-year-old has taken up the role of Red Bull's Global Head of Soccer , yet he'll be back on the touchline on Saturday for the charity fixture , organised by the LFC Foundation. It is at this event that Aldridge plans to pose a crucial question.

Klopp will join Sir Kenny Dalglish in the dugout for Liverpool Legends, alongside Ian Rush and Aldridge. Earlier this month, Aldridge revealed his intention to ask Klopp about a potential return as Reds manager during the occasion.
Speaking to BOYLE Sports , Aldridge said: "I'm on the staff with Jurgen Klopp , so I'm going to ask him [to come back]! I think we've moved on from Jurgen, but we'd love him back if Arne Slot were to go.
"Obviously you would, because what he did for us, the passion he brought to the team, the club, and the fans was Bill Shankly-esque. If Arne Slot were to go, we'd love him to come back.

"But it doesn't work like that, does it? If he wanted to go to Real Madrid , then good luck to him. Good luck to him, as long as when he plays against Liverpool in the Champions League in years to come, I'd want him to play his reserves!"
Speculation surrounding Klopp's return to management has been rife for some time, with rumours circulating that Los Blancos had reached out to him and his representatives to gauge his interest in taking charge at the Bernabeu.
However, speaking at the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation in Munich this week, Klopp hit back at the speculation whilst offering a tantalising glimpse into his plans.

"If Real Madrid had called, we would have heard about it by now," Klopp said. "But that is all nonsense. They did not even call, not once. They didn't even call my agent. I've said that a thousand times already, but of course I'm not thinking about it at all right now. There's no reason to, thankfully.
"And as for the future, I'm not quite finished as a coach yet. So who knows what might come up in the next few years? But there are absolutely no plans in that regard."
