Manchester United ‘to offload’ eight players to fund £100m move for Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson
Manchester United are ready to offload eight players to raise £100m as they chase Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson , according to The Sun.
Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford are said to be up for sale. Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are set to leave on free transfers.
United hope Barcelona and Napoli will make permanent moves for Rashford and Hojlund respectively, banking £64m. They want £19m for Onana, and Casemiro departing for nothing would cut £350,000 a week from the wage bill.
United remain heavily linked with a summer move for Anderson, and are on track for the Champions League under interim boss Michael Carrick. A midfield revamp is planned, with Anderson reportedly top of their list.
Manchester City are also keen on the England international, who has impressed despite Forest's struggles in the top flight. Both clubs will not hang around with offers for the ex-Newcastle midfielder, who is going to be a key figure for England at this summer's World Cup.
