Manchester United eye surprise move for Arsenal teenager Myles-Lewis Skelly
Manchester United are considering a surprise move to sign Arsenal teenager Myles-Lewis Skelly.
The 19-year-old has struggled to build on last season’s breakout campaign and has started just once in the Premier League all season.
Arsenal are expected to offer Lewis-Skelly out for loan next season, but TEAMtalk are reporting that Manchester United are ready to test the Gunners with a £60m offer.
Lewis-Skelly is viewed as an ideal addition for Manchester United given his age, Premier League experience, and versatility.
The Red Devils want to bring in competition for Luke Shaw amid the expected addition of European football to their schedule next season, while Lewis-Skelly’s comfortability in midfield also adds another option in an area requiring depth.
Arsenal view Lewis-Skelly as part of their long-term plans but United are aware of the North London side’s need to sell after heavy investment in recent windows.
According to the report, United are also tracking Fulham full-back Antonee Robinson and Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell of Crystal Palace.
The club’s recruitment focus is set to focus on players with Premier League experience after the instant impact of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this season.
