Manchester United Are Facing Stiff Competition For This Tottenham Defender: Is He Worth The Fight?

In a recent report , Fichajes revealed that Manchester United are facing stiff competition for Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero . It has been stated that the Red Devils would have to compete with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan in the race to land the Argentine centre-half this summer.

Romero has struggled to find consistency at the North London club this season, but has put in a handful of solid displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The 27-year-old has registered six goals and grabbed four assists in 29 matches for Spurs in this campaign so far across all competitions.

The Argentine talent has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League. Thus, it is no surprise that Man United are among the clubs hoping to sign Romero this off-season.

His current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Spurs to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Romero is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and can play his way out from the back when he is playing with confidence on the field.

Standing at 1.85m, the Argentine sensation can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Old Trafford.

Romero would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s defence. He is good enough to compete for regular first-team football at the Theatre of Dreams.

At 27, Romero is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent choice for the Red Devils to consider in this summer transfer window. With all things considered, he would be well worth the fight, so Man United should focus on stepping up their efforts to sign him later this year.
