Manchester City’s not interested in Nmecha, Anderson is top midfield target

Manchester City will look to strengthen their midfield next summer.

Bernardo Silva is running into the final months of his contract. He is reportedly expected to leave as a free agent.

Rodri has been linked with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid .

The Cityzens have been credited with an interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha.

Nmecha has impressed for Dortmund and has been given a contract extension on improved terms.

However, Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano claims Man City are not pursuing a move for the Germany international.

He said on his YouTube channel : “Manchester City will sign a midfielder this summer. There were links with Felix Nmecha of Borussia Dortmund, but I am told the story is not true.”

Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson has been linked with City . He has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this term.

“Elliot Anderson is very high on the shortlist, but nothing has been decided yet,” Romano added.

“It will depend on whether Nottingham Forest stay in the Premier League, pricing and several other factors.

“I expect City to make a move for him in the coming weeks or months because he is highly appreciated, but he is not the only option.”

City’s interest in the former Newcastle United prospect could hinge on Rodri’s future, given that they both operate in the same position.

Anderson has reportedly attracted interest from Manchester United and Liverpool, making him one of the most sought-after midfielders in the top flight.
