Man Utd's ideal Casemiro plans with £131m double transfer swoop pushed

Louis Saha believes Manchester United will need two players to fill the void left by Casemiro's departure . The former United striker has identified Aurelien Tchouameni and Bruno Guimaraes as the ideal pair to succeed the Brazilian.

Casemiro confirmed in January that he would be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the 2025/26 season, bringing the curtain down on a four-year spell at the club. His exit will be deeply felt after he added yet another goal to his already impressive tally in United's 2-1 victory over Brentford on Monday night.

"He's aggressive but also very technical and can add goals. Tchouaméni has experience at the highest level and plays under pressure every day - that's very similar to what Casemiro brought. From those options, I would choose Guimarães and Tchouaméni."

United have repeatedly been linked with Guimaraes ahead of the summer transfer window, with Newcastle anticipated to offload several key figures should they miss out on European football. Boss Eddie Howe previously played down any interest in his star players, but the midfielder's latest outburst following defeat to Arsenal will have put United's hierarchy firmly on high alert.

Reports indicate that the club have already held discussions with Guimaraes' representatives, with a fee of £60.8million being mooted for his signature. United consider this figure manageable, though he is far from the only midfield target on their radar.

Real Madrid's Tchouameni is another name in the frame as the club looks to mount a successful return to European competition next season. The 26-year-old has been linked with a £70m switch to Old Trafford this summer.
