Man Utd target two Bournemouth stars as Andoni Iraola responds to interest

Andoni Iraola is ‘open’ to joining Manchester United this summer with the Premier League giants also interested in signing two Bournemouth stars.

The Cherries boss announced on Tuesday he will step down as head coach when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 43-year-old has been a revelation during his three years at the Vitality Stadium. And departs with no shortage of suitors.

Iraola is said to favour a return to Spain at this stage in his career with the job at his boyhood club Athletic Bilbao available. But the Spaniard will consider is options with there likely to be several Premier League clubs interested in his services.

Underwhelming campaigns for Liverpool and Chelsea mean there is pressure on Arne Slot and Liam Rosenior while United are still to make a permanent decision on will be their next permanent boss.

Michael Carrick remains the favourite for the role but Monday’s defeat to Leeds United underlined the size of the task at hand at Old Trafford.

With Iraola weighing up his next move, Fabrizio Romano reports the Bournemouth boss is open to remaining in the Premier League.

While there is no suggestions United have made any contact with the Spaniard, he would be ‘open’ to taking over in Manchester this summer.

Iraola is unlikely to be the only major departure on the south coast.

Having lost Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi to Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain respectively last summer, there is growing interest in current stars Junior Kroupi and Marcos Senesi ahead of the summer transfer window.

In his first season at the club, Kroupi has scored 10 goals, including two in games home and away to United who are now weighing up a possible move, the Daily Mail report.

Liverpool and Chelsea are also admirers of the young Frenchman.
