Manchester United maintain they remain "a very attractive proposition for sponsors and partners" despite mounting concerns over a fall in sponsorship income. United confirmed a decline in commercial revenue in their second-quarter financial results, released last month.

United's training kit sponsorship deal with Tezos was valued at £24million per season, but it came to an end in June. This means United have gone through this season without a training kit sponsor for the first time since 2021/2022, when their arrangement with AON came to a close.

Matheus Cunha was photographed in a Tezos-branded hoodie in unveiling shots taken when he joined from Wolves , but the agreement had already lapsed by the time Bryan Mbeumo arrived at the club.

The club are prepared for a further setback, as their sleeve sponsorship arrangement with DXC Technology , believed to be worth £20m per season, is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, reports the Manchester Evening News .

For four seasons, DXC has featured on the club's home, away and third kits. The multi-year partnership has seen DXC deploy their expertise to enhance the way United connect with supporters across their digital platforms.

United sources maintain there is a robust pipeline of new sponsors poised to come on board, and a club representative reinforced that view at the latest fans' forum when questioned whether there was concern about the "slip" in United's financial standing and about securing new sponsors.

The spokesperson said: "We continue to see strong commercial performance – we are one of the world ’s biggest clubs and are a very attractive proposition for sponsors and partners. This is reflected in the regular conversations we have with brands from around the world.

"This season our revenues have dipped due to fewer matches played at Old Trafford and our men’s team not playing in European competition – it’s important we stick together and support the team in finishing as high as possible in the Premier League ."

The fans' forum delegates enquired whether supporters would bear the cost for decisions taken by the club, such as failing to secure new sponsors or sacking Ruben Amorim and his coaching team.

United said: "We reluctantly made the decision to part ways with Ruben to give us the best chance of finishing as high as possible in the league. We have a clear objective to return Manchester United to the top of domestic and European football.

"We want to keep investing in the team and improving our facilities so fans get the best possible experience.

"We also need to make sure the club stays financially sustainable, taking inflation and rising costs into account. This is why it’s important we continue to drive revenues."
