Liam Rosenior drops hint over who starts in goal for Chelsea against Newcastle

Liam Rosenior believes Robert Sanchez is ‘one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League ’ but hinted Filip Jorgensen could keep his place in goal for Chelsea against Newcastle United.
Sanchez was at fault in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the beginning of March with Rosenior dropping him for the following game against Aston Villa .
Jorgensen, who has served as the former Brighton goalkeeper’s understudy the last two seasons, was brought in for the 4-1 victory at Villa Park.
Sanchez was back in goal for the FA Cup victory over Wrexham but in another indication the Denmark international has shifted ahead in the pecking order, Jorgensen was selected in goal for the Champions League showdown against Paris Saint-Germain midweek.
In a thrilling match in the French capital, Jorgensen’s loose pass inside his own area sparked chaos with Vitinha capitalising with a delightful lob.
That error sparked a late meltdown for the visitors with the goalkeeper again at fault for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s second goal that sealed a 5-2 victory for the French champions.
Chelsea are in a four-way battle for Champions League qualification against Manchester United, Aston Villa and Liverpool, welcoming Newcastle to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the game, Rosenior was giving little away over who will start in goal against the Magpies. While he holds Sanchez in a very high regard, he is also confident Jorgensen is ‘ready’ to keep his place.
‘Obviously I made a decision to play Filip against Villa and his performance was outstanding’ Rosenior told a press conference on Friday.
‘His performance against PSG for 75 minutes was outstanding but then he made a mistake. Rob Sanchez is one of the best goalkeepers in the league but I have to make a decision for every game.’

Rosenior added Jorgensen is ‘for sure’ ready if called upon again against Newcastle United.
The Chelsea boss was also quizzed on an incident during the PSG game where frustrations boiled over with Enzo Fernandez reacting furiously to Jorgensen’s error in Paris.
