Leeds United vs Fulham Premier League preview, team news and prediction

Fulham have the opportunity to strengthen their European ambitions as they travel to Elland Road for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Leeds United .
Both sides come into this fixture on the back of FA Cup third-round victories, with Fulham defeating Middlesbrough 3-1 and Leeds overcoming Derby County by the same scoreline. Leeds had been riding high after a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Manchester United extended their unbeaten league run to seven matches, but their impressive streak was halted in dramatic fashion by Newcastle United. Daniel Farke’s men suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat at St James’ Park, conceding the latest winning goal in Premier League history—a Harvey Barnes strike timed at 101 minutes and 48 seconds.
Despite that setback, Leeds sit 16th in the table with an eight-point cushion over 18th-placed West Ham United, keeping them well on track for another season in the top flight. Their recent performances in both league and cup competitions reinforce their credentials. The Whites came from behind to dispatch Derby in the FA Cup, ending a five-game winless run and making it two consecutive away matches with three goals scored. Leeds now return to Elland Road, where they have lost just twice all season and are currently enjoying a four-match unbeaten streak. Notably, both teams have scored in each of the last eight games at this venue.
Fulham have also been entertaining neutrals lately, coming from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup. The Cottagers have both scored and conceded in each of their last four matches. Harry Wilson continued his excellent form with a goal and an assist against Middlesbrough, following his match-winning strike against Chelsea in the West London derby—his seventh Premier League goal of the season.
Marco Silva’s side, currently ninth in the table, have taken 14 points from their last 18 in the league. They sit just two points behind fifth-placed Brentford and four adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool, with 17 games remaining. A first European campaign since the 2011-12 Europa League is within reach for Fulham, who have now scored in 12 consecutive matches across all competitions, including each of their last 10 Premier League games.
Additionally, Fulham have won each of their last five Premier League matches against newly-promoted teams and edged out Leeds 1-0 at Craven Cottage in September—marking their fourth consecutive victory over the Whites in all competitions.
Leeds playmaker Brenden Aaronson shook off a knock picked up at St James’ Park to make a substitute appearance against Derby, while Sam Byram also returned from a back issue to feature off the bench in the FA Cup. Joe Rodon is expected to start after overcoming an ankle injury and fatigue, but Jayden Bogle (calf) remains a doubt. Sebastiaan Bornauw (hip) and Daniel James (thigh) are both sidelined. Star striker Calvert-Lewin, who was rested for the cup tie at Pride Park, is just one goal away from hitting double figures in the Premier League this season—a feat he last achieved with Everton in 2020-21, when he scored 16 league goals.
For Fulham, Nigerian trio Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze were eliminated by Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals, but they will not be available for selection yet as Nigeria face Egypt in the third-place playoff on Saturday. Rodrigo Muniz remains out as he recovers from a thigh injury, while Joshua King (knee) and Kenny Tete (hamstring) will undergo late fitness tests. After rotating his squad for the Middlesbrough match, Marco Silva is expected to recall regular starters such as Harry Wilson, Raul Jimenez, Sander Berge, and Joachim Andersen to the lineup at Elland Road.
