Newcastle-Sunderland derby set to kick off huge day of action

FIXTURES:

Kick off is fast approaching with the big news from the team news being the inclusion of Nick Woltemade and Sven Botman in the home lineup.

There is no place in the squad for Sandro Tonali, who has not recovered from the knock he picked up in the humiliation at the Nou Camp.

First up, though, is the first Tyne-Wear league derby at St. James' Park in 10 long years.

Sunderland have a brilliant record record in the derby and are looking to do the double over their great rivals having won 1-0 in the reverse fixture in December.

Newcastle are remarkably aiming for a first home win over the Black Cats since 2010.

Three points for the Mackems would move them ahead of the Magpies while a victory for Eddie Howe's side will keep alive their hopes of a late top five push.

That will depend on what happens at Villa Park where West Ham will be looking to continue their fine recent form with another positive result.

Unai Emery's side badly need a result too having lost their last three league games.

With Liverpool and Chelsea both losing yesterday, a win would consolidate their place in the top four.

Tottenham vs. Nottingham Forest might just be the biggest league game of the season so far with just a point separating the sides heading into kick off.

If there is a loser, that side could well find themselves in the relegation zone for the international break.

Arsenal vs. Man City at Wembley to decide the first trophy of the season is the main event but there is three league games of major importance.
