Brazil and Jordan Brand unveil historic away kit for 2026 World Cup

T he Brazilian national team has unveiled its new away shirt for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in a historic collaboration with Jordan Brand , becoming the first soccer federation to partner with the iconic brand inspired by legendary basketball player Michael Jordan.

The Spanish government has announced a new series of measures to help students and families in the face of rising prices

The launch was made by Nike and has been presented as the union of two global symbols of sporting greatness. Brazil is the most successful team in World Cup history with five titles, while Jordan is considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time.

Vinicius Jr. celebrates the collaboration

One of the first footballers to react to the launch was Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior , who praised the cultural significance of the new kit.

For all the children in Brazil who dream of having a ball at their feet, this collaboration means something huge

"When the Jumpman stands alongside our colors, it shows the world the creativity, passion and energy that make Brazil special," added the player.

The new away jersey maintains the traditional blue color of the Seleção and features details inspired by Jordan Brand's visual identity.

Vinicius' relationship with Michael Jordan

Vinicius Jr, known for his passion for basketball, even travelled to the United States in 2023 to get a tattoo on his back with iconic figures from the sport.

In this work appear legends such as:

However, the tattoo generated curiosity among fans because Jordan appears shooting a free throw with his left hand , something unusual for the legendary Chicago Bulls player, who is known to be right-handed.

Nike is also launching an urban collection

In addition to the away jersey, Nike unveiled a full collection of streetwear inspired by the Selecao and Jordan Brand.

The line includes garments designed for the athleisure style, a trend that mixes sportswear with everyday fashion and is increasingly being exploited by clubs and national teams around the world.

A collaboration that blends sport and culture

Jordan Brand president Sarah Mensah explained that the partnership goes beyond sports.

"Partnering with the Brazilian Football Federation is more than a collaboration; it is a celebration of the greatness, creativity and vibrant energy of world football, with Brazil at its core," he said.

Brazil's challenge at the World Cup

Although Brazil remains the most successful team in the history of the tournament, its last World Cup title was at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Since then, the Selecao have only reached one semi-final, the memorable 7-1 defeat to Germany at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Now, with a new generation led by figures such as Vinicius Jr., Brazil will seek to return to the top of world football at the 2026 World Cup, wearing a jersey that mixes history, culture and one of the most iconic sports brands on the planet.
