Manchester United midfielder Casemiro will not change his mind about leaving the club this summer despite pleas from supporters for him to stay on one more season.
The Brazil international announced earlier this year he will leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
His deal does have the option to extend by a further 12 months but there are no plans to activate it.
Signed from Real Madrid for £70million in 2023, Casemiro has endured some tough periods in Manchester but has had a fine return to form this season and has been one of the club’s most important players.
United will seek to sign a replacement for the 34-year-old as part of their midfield rebuild this summer with latest reports suggesting Sandro Tonali has moved to the top of their list of targets.
His Newcastle United teammate Bruno Guimarães has also been linked with reports in Brazil suggesting Casemiro has personally recommended the club sign his countryman.
The midfielder has also chipped in with seven goals this season, heading home against Aston Villa on 15 March.

After being subbed off later in that game, fans at Old Trafford chanted ‘one more year’ as he left the pitch.
But Casemiro has no plans to change his decision.
‘I am still enjoying it a lot (in Manchester),’ Casemiro said after Brazil’s 2-1 defeat by France in Boston on Thursday.
‘I believe the announcement is now done. It is huge, the affection that the fans have shown towards me.

‘But I do really believe the decision is made and done. I am enjoying myself right now. I believe it will be some difficult (emotional) moments, these (final) games at Manchester United.’
