Arsenal news: Man Utd want to sign Gunners ace as first-team star reveals Bayern interest

With Arsenal riding high both domestically and in Europe, fans can be forgiven for wanting to stay in the moment. But football never stands still, and even as the Gunners push to finish the season on a high, attention is already beginning to drift toward the summer transfer window.
After investing around £250million in new talent last summer, Arsenal are not expected to spend as heavily this time around. Links to Newcastle's Sandro Tonali continue to gather pace, but with Mikel Arteta already well stocked in both midfield and defence, the urgency for reinforcements appears limited.
That said, a quieter window does not necessarily mean a stagnant one. One or two high-profile departures could still materialise, especially if recent reports are to be believed.
With that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal-related headlines:

Manchester United are reportedly considering an ambitious swoop for Arsenal left back Myles Lewis-Skelly. The 19-year-old has been a peripheral figure for the Gunners this season, playing second - and sometimes even third - fiddle to Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie.
He hasn't kicked a ball since Arsenal's fourth round FA Cup win over Wigan last month and hasn't featured in the Premier League since early January. It marks a sharp change in trajectory for a player who, after breaking into the first team last season, looked poised to establish himself as a long-term option for Arsenal - and for England.
However, with opportunities now limited, uncertainty is beginning to grow around his future in north London. United, meanwhile, are said to have included Lewis-Skelly on a four-man shortlist as they seek to reinforce at left-back. Concerns over Luke Shaw's injury record, coupled with expectations that Tyrell Malacia will depart, have increased the urgency to strengthen in that area.

Whether Arsenal would sanction a sale to a direct rival remains unclear. But with Michael Carrick overseeing an upward trajectory at Old Trafford and first-team chances currently limited, the prospect of a move could prove tempting for Lewis-Skelly.
David Raya has revealed that Bayern Munich attempted to sign him before his move to Arsenal.
The Spaniard initially joined from Brentford on loan in 2023, with the deal made permanent a year later in a package worth around £30million. However, before finalising that switch, Bayern had made a serious push to bring him to the Allianz Arena.
Like Arsenal, the Bundesliga giants were exploring a loan move with a view to a permanent transfer. Raya has admitted he came "very close" to joining the German side, but ultimately believes his decision to head to north London was the right one.

Speaking to Sky Sports , he said: "I was very close to going to another club. Obviously everything happened with Arsenal, but I was very, very close to going to another club.
"But luckily that didn’t happen and Arsenal in the end made the bid and I came here. Yeah, it was Bayern Munich." He added: “It was the best choice I’ve made, to come to this club."
Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
