Jesse Lingard: Former Man United star presented to Corinthians fans

Former Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has finally found a new club.

After making 232 appearances for Manchester United , Lingard left the club for good in 2022.

He spent one year at Nottingham Forest before leaving as a free agent in the summer of 2023. Lingard took his time to decide on his next step and moved to South Korea to play for FC Seoul in early 2024.

Lingard spent two years there, playing 67 games and scoring 19 goals.

The Englishman decided to leave at the end of his deal, however, and look for new career opportunities.

He was linked with a move back to England , Spain and Italy, but finally decided on a move to Brazil.

Finally, news broke that Lingard was closing in on a move to Brazilian giants Corinthians.

It was reported last week that the former Manchester United man officially signed a deal with the Brazilian Serie A side, and he will become the first Englishman to play in the division’s history.

The club subsequently released a video of the former United star being introduced to the club.

The video starts with “welcoming Lingard to the favela” and shows him walking out onto the Arena Corinthians in his new side’s colours.

Lingard is also shown videos of the vocal home support during the game and is given a taste of what he might come to expect on matchday.

The Warrington-born star can also be seen signing shirts and being shown around the 48,905-capacity stadium.

Naturally, the media also shows him holding up a signed shirt, confirming that he is the club’s latest signing.

Corinthians take on Coritiba on Wednesday night, and Lingard may be eyeing this fixture as a chance to make his first appearance for Timão.

There have already been photos of the former United player in training, preparing for the next match.
