Jamie Carragher accuses Liverpool fans of 'acting like Man Utd' with unrealistic demand

Jamie Carragher is fearful that "Liverpool supporters are already behaving like Manchester United fans" with their demand to see another Jurgen Klopp arrive at the helm.
The Reds are nearly two years into their era post the German, who was the man to end their wait for a Premier League title. He also claimed the Champions League and was regarded among the club's greatest ever managers by the time he left.
Arne Slot came in to replace him, winning the title in his first year, before enduring a notable drop off in his second season. That has led to questions over his future, which will only ramp up if he finishes the season trophyless and fails to qualify for the Champions League.
Carragher admits to getting a sense that the Anfield fanbase are seeking a Klopp-like figure - seeing comparisons with the demands from Red Devils supporters to find their next Sir Alex Ferguson . However the ex-Red insists neither is out there.
He wrote in the Telegraph : "My fear is Liverpool supporters are already behaving like United fans in the aftermath of Ferguson’s departure. They are on such a quest to find the next Klopp – or a charismatic figurehead of similar status – that they will be willing to offload many good managers, season after season, in the potentially forlorn hope of finding the next superstar.
"There is no other Klopp. He was a one-off. His presence at last weekend’s legends game at Anfield was a reminder of his aura. Klopp was allowed to endure difficult periods during his Anfield reign because of the authority he possessed and the trust he built. Slot does not carry the same weight yet."
Slot and Liverpool began the year impressively, winning their opening five games. However a midseason slump has written off any hope of retaining their title. They endured a horrific run of ten losses in 12 games across all competitions, which included some humiliating defeats at Anfield.

Despite halting that poor form, Liverpool have not been immune to poor displays with Slot yet to find a sense of consistency. Carragher admits that remains an issue that will hang over him.
He said: "The longer this goes on, the greater the concern that it will continue to get worse. If Slot is a truly elite coach, why has he been unable to reverse this season’s alarming slide?"
Slot recently celebrated 100 games in charge and, across that period, boasts the joint best record of any manager in Liverpool's history. He is on par with Kenny Dalglish, who also won 62 of his first 100 outings.
