Jimmy Bullard has been the centre of the drama in I'm A Celebrity… South Africa. The former Premier League star was involved in an angry confrontation with campmate Adam Thomas after leaving during a challenge.

Bullard accused Thomas of "abusive, aggressive and intimidating" behaviour, which was not aired on the show. Presenters Ant and Dec and some of the other campmates rejected those claims as the final descended into a shouting match.

Regardless of where you stand on the saga, it kept Bullard's profile high and is likely to lead to more lucrative work on the reality TV circuit. Here's the lowdown on Bullard's life away from the jungle, including his net worth, long-term fiancee and sports-star son.

Hailing from East Ham in London, Bullard was born on October 23, 1978. The midfielder's football career included spells at Wigan Athletic, Fulham, Hull City and West Ham.

After hanging up his boots, he became a TV star, co-presenting Soccer AM on Sky Sports and appearing on shows such as Celebrity MasterChef and the 2014 series of I'm A Celebrity. He has also purchased a pub with his father and runs his own business, Jimmy Bullard Ltd. He boasts an estimated net worth of £3.5million.

An explosive row between Thomas and Bullard dominated the final episode. Thomas was crowned the winner in Friday night's finale, only for the 37-year-old actor to be labelled "abusive, aggressive and intimidating" by Bullard.

David Haye then accused the show of editing footage to make Thomas look like a "victim". After defending the actor, fellow contestants Sinitta and Gemma Collins walked off set.

During the episode, Sinitta and Collins were asked by Bullard to weigh in on Thomas's behaviour on the show. Former The Only Way Is Essex star Collins wrote on her Instagram story: "Jimmy Bullard and David Haye should be absolutely DISGUSTED WITH THEMSELVES."

Bullard discussed their row on the show, claiming Thomas dropped "c-bombs" which were not aired. He asked hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for their opinion as they had "front-row seats". McPartlin disagreed that the exchange was aggressive and said: "No it wasn't, I was there."

Bullard is now reportedly considering taking legal action against ITV. A spokesman for ITV said: "We showed an accurate and fair representation of events."

Bullard is engaged to his long-term partner, Diane, with whom he has two children, Archie and Beau. Diane has largely stayed away from the public eye.

But ahead of his first stint in the jungle in 2014, he told the Mirror : "My amazing missus, along with my two fantastic kids, Archie and Beau, are the greatest things that ever happened to me."

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
