From Italy: Serie A giants plot shock mid-season move for Man Utd star who made 40 apps under Amorim, he’s open

Harry Maguire is reportedly attracting interest from two of Serie A’s top dogs in the form of Inter Milan and Napoli.

That’s according to journalist Marco Conterio, who adds that struggling Fiorentina are also plotting an ambitious move in hopes of the Manchester United veteran helping them out of the relegation zone.

While United aren’t thought to be pushing for any mid-season sales, this month does pose as the last time they would recuperate any fee from Maguire’s departure, given his contract ends in June.

There has been speculation suggesting the Englishman could be offered a new deal on reduced terms , but nothing has materialised as of yet, and the club will likely favour the prospect of cashing in when there are suitors waiting in the wings to pay for his services.

What’s more, Maguire has become unreliable when it comes to his fitness this season .

Already in 2025/2026, he has missed 10 Premier League matches due to a thigh problem, and only just returned to action in last Sunday’s FA Cup defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion by making an 11-minute cameo off the bench.

Maguire made 40 appearances in total under Ruben Amorim and now faces a battle to reclaim his spot with Lisandro Martinez back in the fold and Ayden Heaven impressing.

Fans are anticipating how the Reds will shape up for Michael Carrick’s first fixture in charge this weekend, when United host arch-rivals Manchester City.

Then, it’s a trip to the Emirates to face league leaders Arsenal on Sunday, January 25.
