Filip Jorgensen has been ruled out of Chelsea ’s Premier League match against Newcastle United due to injury, while Sandro Tonali misses the game due to illness.
The 23-year-old started ahead of Robert Sanchez for Chelsea’s Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week but his error led to PSG ’s third goal as Luis Enrique’s side went on win 5-2 at the Parc des Princes.
Chelsea host Newcastle at Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s 5.30pm kick-off and Sanchez starts in goal for Liam Rosenior’s side, while Jorgensen has not been named on the substitutes’ bench.
It is understood that Jorgensen misses the game due to a minor groin injury.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Rosenior insisted both Jorgensen and Sanchez are good enough goalkeepers for Chelsea.
‘For sure. I made a decision to play Filip against Aston Villa and his performance was outstanding, he contributed to a very good win,’ Rosenior said.
‘His performance for 75 minutes (against PSG) was magnificent. He makes a mistake and we get punished, and we go on to lose in a manner we definitely shouldn’t have lost.

‘Rob Sanchez is one of the best goalkeepers in the league. There’s no question about those two players’ quality.’
Newcastle, meanwhile, are without Tonali due to an illness, while Joelinton is named on the bench.
