Premier League cult hero's stunning daughter follows in his footsteps vs England

The daughter of former Premier League star Hermann Hreidarsson has earned her first international caps. Hreidarsson was a fan favourite during stints at Portsmouth , Charlton and Ipswich , while earning 89 caps for Iceland.
The apple hasn't fallen far from the tree, as his daughter, Ida Marin Hermannsdottir, has now also pulled on the national team shirt at senior level. Ida Marin, 23, made her Iceland debut against Spain last week before appearing again in her nation's 2-0 loss to England women at Nottingham's City Ground, where her dad turned out numerous times during his playing days.
Ida Marin, a midfielder, completed the full 90 minutes against Spain and the opening 63 minutes against England, with her proud father was watching from the stands.
She began her career at Icelandic club Fylkir before joining Valur and, in 2024, FH (Fimleikafelag Hafnarfjordur), where her impressive performances earned her an international call-up.

Off the pitch, Ida Marin has cultivated a substantial following on Instagram , where she boasts more than 7,000 followers. Alongside her footballing achievements, the blonde enjoys sharing glimpses from her personal life with friends and family.
She is one of Hermann's four children. Ida Marin and her sister, Thelma Loa, are from his first marriage to Ragna Loa Stefansdottir, whilst he has two sons with his fiancée, Alexandra Fanney Johannsdottir.

Iceland's women have been drawn in a 'group of death' alongside European champions England and World Cup winners Spain. The Group A victors will secure automatic qualification for the 2027 tournament in Brazil, while the remaining three nations will enter the play-offs alongside teams from Groups B and C.
Hermann, a tough-tackling defender, enjoyed a 15-year career in English football after joining Crystal Palace in 1997/98. He subsequently turned out for Brentford and Wimbledon before racking up over 100 appearances for Ipswich , Charlton and Portsmouth .

His English football journey concluded with a short stint at Coventry City. He headed back to Iceland in 2013, taking on player-manager roles at IBV and Fylkir and having a short period managing Fylkir's women's side.
Hermann made his return to English football as assistant to Sol Campbell at struggling League One outfit Southend United in October 2019. After being unable to prevent the Shrimpers' drop to League Two, both he and Campbell left by mutual agreement.
