FC Bayern confirm new contract for Upamecano
Bayern Munich have confirmed that Dayot Upamecano has signed a new long-term contract, keeping the French defender at the club until 2030.
“Dayot Upamecano has matured into a top-level player with us. We’re delighted he’ll continue his journey at Bayern , also proving once again our status in international football. His clear personal commitment is a strong message for our sporting course and for the good togetherness within the team and the club," said FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.
Upamecano, who joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2021, expressed his excitement about extending his stay:
“I’m really happy to be staying at Bayern and continuing to play in this team. We’ve got a great team and a great coach. We’ve got big goals together. In life, it’s always about mentality. I give my all for my teammates, in every training session, want to keep a clean sheet in every game and want to win as many titles as possible with Bayern .”
Since arriving in 2021, Upamecano has made 180 appearances for Bayern , scoring six goals and providing 11 assists.
