Dominik Szoboszlai sends 'wake-up' demand to Liverpool and responds to Anfield boos
Dominik Szoboszlai speaking to Sky Sports after Liverpool's draw with Tottenham

Dominik Szoboszlai says Liverpool need to 'wake up' after they were booed off the pitch following Sunday's 1-1 draw against Tottenham .
Szoboszlai, 25, had put the Reds in front with a sensational first-half free-kick, and Arne Slot's side were on course to secure a vital win up until Richarlison snatched a point for Spurs with a 90th-minute equaliser.
After the full-time whistle was blown, boos and jeers could be heard from the Liverpool supporters inside Anfield as they voiced their frustration having failed to beat a Spurs side locked in a Premier League relegation battle.
When asked about Liverpool fans booing, Szoboszlai told Sky Sports: "I didn't hear the boos but we can understand them because last season we became champions but this season we are not performing in a way we should be.

"But I think they should stand behind us because last season, when we were champions, four games before the end everybody was happy so support us when we are in a difficult time."
Liverpool would have moved level on points with fourth-place Aston Villa and three behind Manchester United in third with a win against Tottenham. Although the Reds have still jumped a place and a point above Chelsea by drawing to Spurs, they could have been in a much stronger position in the race for a Champions League spot.

And Szoboszlai has urged his teammates to improve or they might have to settle for a place in the Europa League or even the Conference League next season.
"At the end we have to wake up because there are eight or nine games left to go and if we keep going like this, next season we should be happy to play (in the) Conference League," Szoboszlai continued. "If I knew the answer, then I would probably tell the guys and we would change it. I don't know, honestly I don't know."
Next up for Liverpool and Szoboszlai is a crucial Champions League Round of 16 second leg tie against Galatasaray on Wednesday. The Reds trail 1-0 from the first leg in Istanbul and must win the game to stand a chance of securing a place in the quarter-final of Europe's elite club competition.
After that, the Reds then travel to Brighton in the final game before the March international break next Saturday.
