Chelsea and Burnley clash in Premier League as both sides struggle in defence

Chelsea play host to Burnley a week after the two sides had very different experiences in the FA Cup.

Chelsea booked their place in the next round of the FA Cup with a convincing 4-0 victory over Championship side Hull City. The victory means that Liam Rosenior's side have now won seven of their last nine matches in all competitions.

The run has seen Chelsea run away with matches on several occasions. The Blues have netted at least three goals five times. However, they remain unsteady at the other end of the pitch, having kept just three clean sheets in nine matches.

On the complete flipside, Burnley endured an embarrassing FA Cup exit in their most recent outing. The Clarets lost to League One side Mansfield Town. Scott Parker's men have now been beaten in three of their last four matches in all competitions.

It is likely that if Burnley get a result at Stamford Bridge, it's because of their attacking prowess. Burnley have failed to score in only three of their previous 10 games and continue to pose a threat up front.

Conversely, at the back, they have been struggling. Eight of their 16 Premier League defeats this season have seen the newly promoted side concede three or more goals. Chelsea have won six of the last eight meetings between the two sides.

Chelsea come into the match in fifth place on 44 points, while Burnley are nine points short of getting out of the relegation zone on 18 points.
