Carnesecchi ‘to extend’ Atalanta contract after Man Utd bid rejected
According to Football Italia, Marco Carnesecchi has reached a verbal agreement to extend his Atalanta contract, with a pay rise and only the signature outstanding.
The Italy goalkeeper, 25, has 14 clean sheets in 38 appearances across all competitions this season, conceding 38 goals. His current deal in Bergamo runs to June 2028.
He has been linked with Inter and Juventus, while Manchester United tried to sign him last summer. A €40m proposal from United was turned down by Atalanta .
Inter and Juventus will look for a new starting goalkeeper in 2026-27, but Inter’s main target seems to be Guglielmo Vicario, who is willing to return to Serie A from Tottenham. Inter and Vicario’s representative will be involved in a new round of talks this month.
Carnesecchi was part of the Italy squad in October and November under new coach Gennaro Gattuso, but he has yet to make his senior Azzurri debut.
