Burnley vs Brentford Premier League preview, team news and prediction

Burnley welcome Brentford to Turf Moor on Saturday, hoping to match their longest unbeaten Premier League run of the season by avoiding defeat in gameweek 28. Scott Parker’s side have taken four points from their last two games—a 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace and a dramatic 1-1 draw at Chelsea—and are aiming to go three unbeaten for only the second time this campaign. However, the Clarets remain eight points from safety and haven’t won at home since October, highlighting their struggles as the league’s lowest home scorers.
Brentford, meanwhile, travel to Lancashire looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to Brighton, which ended their three-match unbeaten run. Keith Andrews’s team have been strong away from home recently, winning at Aston Villa and Newcastle, and currently top the away form table over the last five matches. With just five points separating them from the European places, Brentford will be eager to extend Burnley’s winless home streak to ten games and keep their continental hopes alive.

Burnley avoided any fresh injuries at Chelsea, but remain without Connor Roberts (calf), Josh Cullen (knee), Axel Tuanzebe (heel), Zeki Amdouni (knee), Armando Broja, Jordan Beyer (hamstring), and Mike Tresor (ankle). Zian Flemming’s equaliser at Stamford Bridge was his sixth goal of the season—all scored away from Turf Moor—while Jaidon Anthony, also on six, has netted three times both home and away. Anthony will look to add another at home against Brentford.
For the visitors, Kevin Schade returned from suspension with a second-half appearance against Brighton and could start on Saturday. All six of Schade’s league goals have come at home, so he’ll be aiming to open his away account. Brentford’s top scorer Igor Thiago has 17 goals this season, including eight away—just one behind Erling Haaland’s league-leading nine. Michael Kayode and Aaron Hickey will be assessed after recent knocks, while Fabio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo, and Joshua Dasilva remain sidelined with long-term knee injuries.
