BREAKING: Anderson out of Europa League quarter final due to bereavement
England international Elliot Anderson has been made unavailable for Nottingham Forest’s Europa League quarter final second leg after the sad passing of his mother.
The midfielder, 23, was set to take part in the tie against Liga Portugal leaders Porto , which is currently level at 1-1, but will not participate after the club announced that he is bereaving the loss of his mother, Helen, on social media.
The statement read: “Elliot Anderson is unavailable for tonight’s fixture following the passing of his beloved mother, Helen.Everyone at Nottingham Forest Football Club extends its deepest condolences to Elliot and his family following this extremely sad news.”

Forest, sat 17th in the Premier League, have the chance to reach their first European semi final in over four decades at the expense of the Portuguese side, but must now do so without one of their standout players this season.
