Bournemouth enter the contest after a 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Saturday, a result that leaves them sitting ninth in the table with 39 points. In contrast, Brentford’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Burnley propelled them to seventh place with 43 points, keeping them firmly in the race for continental qualification.

Against Sunderland, Bournemouth dominated several key attacking statistics, registering 21 shots and enjoying 62% possession. Despite their control, the Cherries had to come from behind to salvage a point in the second half. Manager Andoni Iraola deserves credit for instilling resilience in his team, who have now claimed the third-highest number of points from losing positions in the Premier League this season (15). Defensive concerns persist as well, with the team conceding at least two goals in five of their last seven top-flight matches.

Seventh place is likely to be enough for Keith Andrews’s side to secure Conference League qualification, but with just two points separating them from sixth-placed Chelsea—and the advantage of not having to juggle European fixtures this season—the Bees will be eager to climb even higher. Brentford have already met Bournemouth twice this campaign, winning convincingly on both occasions: 4-1 in December 2025 and 2-0 in August. Remarkably, Brentford are unbeaten in their last nine encounters with the Cherries.

Bournemouth are known for their high-intensity pressing style, but sticking with the same starting lineup as against Sunderland could be a gamble. Amine Adli may come in for winger Rayan to freshen things up. At the back, Marcos Senesi and James Hill are expected to anchor the defense, while Ryan Christie could join Alex Scott in a double pivot in midfield.
