Benjamin Sesko questions transfer decision with 'unbelievable' Man Utd star

Benjamin Sesko expressed his disappointment that veteran midfielder Casemiro is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season.

Casemiro scored his fourth goal in six Premier League matches on Monday evening to help guide United to a narrow 2-1 home win over Brentford .

The 34-year-old has been one of the Red Devils’ most consistent performers this season , and another commanding display was met with chants from the Old Trafford faithful pleading with him to extend his stay at the club.

Casemiro already announced earlier this season that he would leave this summer, with the club opting not to trigger a one-year extension on the midfielder’s lucrative contract.

And teammate Sesko, who scored what proved to be the winner on Monday, feels it will be a shame to see him leave given the current levels of performance the Brazilian continues to showcase.

‘He’s a working machine,’ said Sesko. ‘He’s experienced and what he’s putting on the pitch is unbelievable.

‘You need someone like this. Unfortunately, he’s leaving, but we are pleased that we can manage him until the last minute in the game and we’re going to use him.’

On the example that Casemiro sets to other players in the squad, Sesko added: ‘The way you look at him, it’s very important, you know? It would be stupid if you didn’t look at him and try to be like him when it comes to the work rate and stuff.

‘I think everyone is pleased that he is here. Unfortunately, he leaves but it’s important to keep him up like this [until the end of the season].’

Meanwhile, Sesko also joined a growing number of his United teammates in backing Michael Carrick to stay on full-time heading into next season.

‘He’s an amazing coach, I’ve said this many times,’ he added.

‘He’s brought different energy. Also the way we’re doing in the training, it’s unbelievable. Of course I would like to have him here.’

United have won nine of 13 Premier League games under Carrick and know that a win against Liverpool on Sunday will guarentee them a spot in next season’s Champions League .
