Alejandro Garnacho was once left furious after baseless accusations of leaking team information at Manchester United . The Argentine winger's new club, Chelsea , are now encountering a similar issue.

The Blues' starting XI for Tuesday evening's game against Paris Saint-Germain was leaked by several French outlets on the morning of their European matchday.

Such details hand Chelsea's opponents, who are 5-2 up on aggregate, an advantage ahead of the crucial Champions League last-16 second-leg tie. French outlet Onze Mondial's report is the second time in a week that Liam Rosenior's team news has been allegedly leaked.

His selection for the first leg had also been released by the French media just hours before kick-off last week. He pledged to investigate the incident, saying at the time: "I wasn't aware [of the leak]. I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of that if that's the case."

However, it appears the west Londoners have not been successful in doing so. It comes after Chelsea winger Garnacho was accused by sections of United fans on social media of leaking team news while he still played at Old Trafford last season - a claim he vehemently denied.

In December 2024, during Ruben Amorim's reign, United's team selections were consistently revealed before kick-off. The problem, which stretched back to David Moyes ' and Jose Mourinho's eras, prompted certain supporters to accuse 21-year-old Garnacho alongside his United colleague Amad.

Both players vehemently rejected any culpability and United grew deeply frustrated by the allegations spreading across social media. The Daily Mail reported the club refused to accept either player being falsely blamed without substantiation.

Club officials backed the pair, believing those making the accusations were simply trying to boost their online following. It was reported that Garnacho and Amad were poised to publicly confront the matter before the Europa League triumph against Viktoria Plzen.

However, their appeal to do so was rejected by the club, who feared it would just intensify the situation. Garnacho has never been proven guilty of disclosing team information.

United have encountered the problem again this campaign, with Michael Carrick's line-up being revealed an hour before January's Manchester Derby teams were officially announced. There exists no evidence of Garnacho being responsible at either club.

The winger has featured 34 times for the Blues since his £40million move to Stamford Bridge last summer. He has failed to secure a regular starting position and has netted just one goal in the Premier League this season.
