Roberto De Zerbi set to be named Tottenham Hotspur manager
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of confirming Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager, according to Sky Sports .
The former Olympique de Marseille manager, whose spell in France came to an end last February, is set to take over from Igor Tudor, who was sacked after just seven games in charge of the London club (one win and one draw against five defeats) on the Spurs bench.
With Tottenham Hotspur’s next match scheduled for 12th April against Sunderland, De Zerbi’s appointment could be announced as early as today, following intensified talks in recent hours. A unanimous choice among the Spurs hierarchy, the 46-year-old manager is seen as the ideal person to help the club secure their Premier League status and make an immediate tactical impact.
This is a major challenge for De Zerbi, whose time at Brighton & Hove Albion – where he managed 89 matches (38 wins, 20 draws, 31 defeats) – could undoubtedly prove crucial.
Currently 17th in the league, Tottenham trail Nottingham Forest, in 16th place, by two points, but are just one point ahead of West Ham United, in 18th and the first relegation spot.
