Official: Real Madrid starting lineup against Getafe – first start for academy gem
Real Madrid take on Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu in under two hours, hoping to close the gap to the top of the La Liga table to Barcelona.
With kickoff not very far away, manager Alvaro Arbeloa has announced the starting lineup that will take the field against Jose Bordalas’ men.
The big headline is that academy midfielder Thiago Pitarch , who recently made his first-team debut as a substitute against SL Benfica in February, makes his first start for Real Madrid .
He comes into the team at the expense of Eduardo Camavinga , who is out with a severe toothache. Federico Valverde , Arda Guler, and Aurelien Tchouameni complete the hosts’ four-man midfield setup.
Meanwhile, the veteran duo of Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba start at centre-back tonight, with Raul Asencio unavailable and Dean Huijsen not fit enough to start the game.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alvaro Carreras line up as the two full-backs, with Thibaut Courtois guarding the goal.
In attack, Vinicius Jr. partners up with Gonzalo Garcia, who starts for a second time in a row in the absence of Kylian Mbappe. Rodrygo Goes is an option on the bench.
